We want to welcome all of our new students to our class! We also are sad to say goodbye to Ms. Brooks but know she will enjoy her new school. We welcome Ms. McKinney! Next week we will be going over the class rules in detail. Each day your child will bring home a color sheet with a rule on it. For homework each night please discuss these expectations with your child . Please see the green page in the booklet I sent home today about classroom management. Also, save the date for August 28! Welcome! My name is Laura Welch. This is my 26th year teaching in Cobb County. This is my 8th year at Powers Ferry. I’m married and 1 have 2 children, Davis is in 9th grade and Riley is in 7th . I truly love Kindergarten and all the enthusiasm that comes with it! I am so happy to have your child this year. It is my hope that your child will leave my classroom with a sense of security as a learner. I want your child to feel confident in his/her ability to succeed, accept challenges, and explore and analyze the world around them. To this end, I encourage “risk-taking” with the understanding that everyone makes mistakes, and these mistakes are a necessary part of the learning process. Please look for a parent handbook to come home. It is full of important information! Please keep it somewhere safe! I am looking forward to seeing everyone at open house August 28!
