Winter is here and it is a busy time of year!
Please continue reading the books that come home daily with your child. Practice sight words each night!
In math we are measuring and learning vocabulary words like longer, shorter, taller, heavier, and lighter. Look for a measurement practice packet to come home. We are continuing to practice counting to 100 by 1's and 10's and also counting objects up to 20.
In science we are describing changes from day to night. We have also learned about gravity. We can tell why a book does not fall off if it is on a table and why it will fall if it is dropped.
For social studies we are going to be able to identify and explain symbols of our country: the Bald Eagle and the Statue of Liberty. We are also reviewing our address and city and now we are learning that we live in Cobb County.
On Friday December 14 we will have pajama day and share The Polar Express.
On Monday December 18 we will have our holiday party from 1-2. You are welcome to join us. Thank you to all the families that have volunteered to send in items needed for December activities.
December 19-20 are early release days for students!
Our winter break is scheduled for December 21-January 4.
Hope to see you at the holiday party!
